Since her rise to fame in the ‘90s, Sandra Bullock has been a fixture on our screens. From her breakout role in Speed to her unforgettable performances in romcom classics like Miss Congeniality and Two Weeks Notice, the Oscar-winning actress has graced us with her wide range and megawatt smile for decades.

Since the actress recently announced that she was taking a well-deserved break from acting to spend time with her family, we’ve been rewatching her films and revisiting some of her best beauty looks over the years. Here’s ten of our favorites.

The Oscar-winning actress looked resplendent at the U.K. screening of her latest action-adventure film The Lost City earlier this year. With a head full of cascading waves and a matte pink lip and subtle smokey eye, her soft glam complemented her colorful Carolina Herrera jacket.

Bullock understood the assignment when she stepped onto the red carpet at the 2020 Golden Globes. The actress was a vibrant vision in her sunny marigold dress, which she wore with a tousled lob, peach-toned makeup and her signature smile.

Day-um, Sandy. You get a two-syllable expletive for this look. We love the way her sleek, center-parted bob frames her doe-eyed features here. And that tomato red lip matches her ravishing Martin Grant gown to a T. Bravo to her glam team for this one.

Get the look: Dior Rouge Dior Refillable Lipstick in “080 Red Smile Satin” ($39); ghd Original Styler 1" Flat Iron ($169)

The actress took a departure from her typically soft glam for a sultrier look at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015. Between the heavy-set fringe and moody makeup, we almost didn’t recognize her, but it’s Sandra Bullock we’re talking about here, so of course she still looked stunning.

Get the look: Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance™ Lipstick in “Full Blooded” ($38)

Here she is looking like a Bohemian princess with her earth-toned makeup and breezy updo. With two, face-framing tendrils (which, btw, are back in style) and a miniature crown braid, we’re willing to bet this look was saved to many a bridal Pinterest board.

You could say that Bullock looked out of this world at the premiere for Gravity at the Venice International Film Festival. Her voluminous hair seemed to defy, well, gravity. OK, corny jokes aside, we really did appreciate the contrast between her tousled updo and the sharp lines of her dress.

Get the look: Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($49)

If you had to encapsulate a look that defined the early-mid 2000s, this is it. Sunkissed highlights, a ton of bronzer, frosted lips and long, layered necklaces to adorn your equally long tank tops and/or belted dresses.

Get the look: Makeup by Mario Soft Sculpt Bronzer ($28)

This is right around the time when Bullock cemented her status as rom-com queen with her blockbuster hit Miss Congeniality. In revisiting this look, we’re reminded once again that Y2K beauty really is back. Just look at those skinny brows and money piece highlights!

Get the look: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz® Ultra-Slim Precision Brow Pencil ($23)

It’s amazing what a difference a couple of years makes. Even in 1999, you get the last vestiges of ‘90s grunge on Sandra here with her brown-toned lips and mussed up hair. (Also, does anyone else see the slight Dua Lipa resemblance?)

Get the look: Tower 28 Beauty ShineOn Jelly Lip Gloss in “Almond” ($15)

Considered by many as her breakout role, Bullock won America over with her turn as Annie Porter, a heroic passenger on that fated bus. Her mischievous grin and girl-next-door vibes are on full display here, along with her striped overalls and barely-there makeup.
