Here are the most recent food safety violations in Lebanon County, as documented by Pennsylvania’s Department of Agriculture.

Inspections are taken as a “snapshot” of the day and time, and should not necessarily be taken as overall indicators of an establishment’s cleanliness. Violations are often corrected prior to the inspector leaving the site. Restaurants were found to be in compliance unless otherwise noted.

3 – 304.14 Wiping Cloths, Use Limitations Observed one wet wiping cloth stored on the edge of the sink, not being stored in sanitizer solution. Observed several rags in pails of liquid that were from a previous day and not in appropriate sanitzer. 4 – 101.11 Characteristics – Materials for Construction and Repair Observed several items being stored in a cardboard box in the prep area rather than a container that is durable and can be cleaned. 4 – 903.11 (A)(C) Single-Service & Single-Use Articles, Storing Observed clean food equipment in prep area, stored wet in a manner that does not allow for draining and/or air drying (wet nesting). 5 – 501.110 Storage Refuse, Recyclables, Returnables Facility had a bucket of liquid that was full and overflowing onto the ground near the waste receptical. There were several containers of used oil stored in the cartons/jugs on the ground outside next to the dumpster. Waste items are not permitted to be stored on the ground. 4 – 602.13 Nonfood-Contact Surfaces The inside and outside of the door to the walk-in, a non-food contact surface, is not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. 6 – 301.11 Handwashing Cleanser, Availability Paper towel dispenser empty at the handwash sink in the prep area. Replaced towels. 3 – 501.16(A1) Time/Temperature Control for Safety Food, Hot Holding Mac & Cheese was held at 125°F, in the hot holding area, rather than 135°F or above as required. Note: Gravy stored in the same warmer was 135°F.

5 – 205.15 System Maintained in Good Repair There is some type of problem with the potable water supply system. The water at handwashing sinks, 3-compartment sink and other water outlets are discolored and coming out brown. This issue was noted on the inspection report from October 21, 2022. 5 – 501.15 Outside Receptacles Lids on outside recepticals are not closed and excessive rubbish stored along the side of the building needs to be removed. 4 – 602.13 Nonfood-Contact Surfaces Non-food contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil; specifically, the shelves in the walk-in cooler for small beverage containers are extremely dirty.

6 – 302.11 Toilet Tissue, Availability Toilet tissue is not on the dispenser. 6 – 501.111 Controlling Pests Potential rodent harborage areas on the exterior of the building perimeter observed along the side of the building due to excessive rubbish along the building. 6 – 301.11 Handwashing Cleanser, Availability No sign or poster posted at the handwash sink in the employee toilet area to remind food employees to wash their hands. 3 – 306.13(B-C) Consumer Self-Service Operations Consumer self service items, specifically beef jerky/meat snacks, have the utensil stored inside of the container. A method for preventing contamination while dispensing the food is required.

5 – 205.11 Using a Handwashing Sink-Operation and Maintenance A mop was observed in the handwash sink, indicating uses other than handwashing. 6 – 501.114 Maintaining Premises, Unnecessary Items and Litter The area under the cartons of syrup for the soft drink fountain is not being cleaned at a frequency needed. 4 – 601.11(A) Equipment, Food Contact Surfaces, Nonfood Contact Surfaces and Utensils The chute for ice on the soft-drink fountain, a food contact surface, was observed to have pink residue and was not clean to sight and touch. The interior of the ice machine has brown and yellow residue.

Discarded during inspection. 4 – 602.13 Nonfood-Contact Surfaces The fan covers in the cooler, non-food contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. 46.1201 (a) Statutory requirement A PDA Food Employee Certification is displayed, but the person in charge of the food establishment needs to be the one with current Certification.
